INTERNATIONAL RADIOCLUB"ARKTIKA" presents:

International northern radioclub "ARKTIKA" was founded on Sept. 24, 1989 in Russian Arctic city Vorkuta (North part of UA9X region). Many HAMs from UA1Z, UA0B, UA1P, UA0K,UA0Q, JW, arctic DX-peditions to FJL and North Pole took part in this club organization. 

The main aims are: 

- to connect all polar radioamateurs and members of an arctic DX-peditions; 

- to set up new arctic awards and contests; - to organize DX-peditions to Russian Arctic area; 

- to develop new and digital modes of HAM-radio in north QTH's; 

- technical help and HAM-tutorial to young HAMs in small arctic QTH's; 

- to set up regional and national arctic ham-ventions; 

- peace, friendship and collaboration in World Arctic area. 

To entry into club "ARKTIKA" need: 

- live in (or travel to) any QTH over the Arctic Circle and make from this QTH one or more QSO; 

or - take part in any arctic (or antarctic) DX-pedition; 

or - win 1-3 places in contest "Arctic Cup" in any group; 

or - win all 3 units of "RAA" program (Diplom, Pennant, Medal). 

No time limit. Any amateur from any country can entry to our club.

Needed data: arctic callsign, QTH and time period, when this callsign was active. All members to get "life" membership number and club periodic info-bulletin "Radio-Top". There are 290 members in RC "ARKTIKA" on Jan. 2007.

1. "Radioclub 'ARKTIKA' Award" ("RAA") program (New edition - from 01-01-2002) 

1.1 "RAA" - Diplom 

Confirmed contacts on any bands or modes with World Arctic area and RC "ARKTIKA" members. QSL's not needed. QSO's after Sept., 24 1989. 67 points are needed. Points values:

QSO with station RC "ARKTIKA" member (minimum 5 different members) - 3 points 

QSO with any station, located in arctic or antarctic QTH (over the Polar Circle) - 1 point

Only different modes and QTH's repeats callsign valids. 

Award classes are: CW, SSB, MIX, QRP, RTTY, SSTV, DIGITAL, SWL

 Fee = 5 EURO or 8 $USD or 10 IRC to Club financial manager: KY2T, Dmytro Ostrenko

1.2. "ARKTIKA - V" Pennant  Special pennant was founded in 1994. 100 points are needed. Fee - 5 EURO (or 8$USD). See part 1.1. 

1.3. "RAA Gold Medal". (revers)  Was founded in 1993. 167 points are needed. Fee - 10 EURO (or 16 $USD). See part 1.1. 

1.4. During RC "ARKTIKA" activity week (every year 24 - 28 Sept.) "Arctic Cup" contest, all amateurs to compete as "RAA" rules for most summary (total points) result and have   "easy" requirement for this award:  "RAA" - 10 QSO's with different RC "ARKTIKA" members;  "ARKTIKA-V" - 20 QSO's with different RC "ARKTIKA" members;  "RAA Gold Medal" - 30 QSO's with different RC "ARKTIKA" members.  Summary log (posted during 15 days) + 1IRC (for results bulletin) to Club HQ (see p. 1.1.)

2. "Diplom of Arctic Travel" ("D.A.T.") program. Was founded on 01-01-2000. 

2.1. Award Rules:  

All arctic QTH's world arctic area set a special classification similar as well as isles in IOTA - program and named "DAT-QTH" system.

Points needed = distance between your QTH-loc and North Pole (or South Pole, if you live in South part of Earth) in kilometers. 

Poins value:

QSO with Continental Arctic DAT-QTH = 50 points 

QSO with DAT-QTH on Arctic Isle = 100 points 

QSO with DX-pedition to North Pole = 200 points 

QSO with RC "ARKTIKA" member = 50 points 

QSO with RC "ARKTIKA" HQ member = 60 points

Attention! QSO with UE9XVA ( 1 Aug 2004 - 30 Sept. 2004 ) Special Event station for XV-years annyversary of RC "ARKTIKA" = 150 points.

Valids QSO's from 24- Sept. - 1989 ( RC "ARKTIKA" founded day). Only different modes and DAT-QTH's for repeat callsign valids.

QSL's not needed. Award classes are: CW, SSB, MIX, QRP, RTTY, SSTV, DIGITAL, SWL.


Describe the Award picture: You can see a historical map of Arctic expeditions to North Pole at the begining of XX-century and photo of George Sedov - the greater Russian arctic traveler and patriot. He said: " Many efforts and lifes brings Russian peoples to Arctic and many heroical pages writes in Arctic History".

George Sedov's expedition on "Sent Foka" ship started at 1912 to North Pole, but in 1913 winter time ship was stopped into big ices of Novaya Zemlya Isl. Sedov with two seamans continued way by earth, but he was ill and died at Febrary 1914 on Rudolf Isle (Franz-Josef Land).

 

 


2.2. How you can entry in this program and get "D.A.T." awards? 

a.) at first, send a letter to Award manager (+1 IRC, not cash, pse) and info about your QTH-loc.

Rem: You send me (RZ6MO) ordinary post letter with information about your Callsign, Name, QTH, QTH-Loc + 1IRC for answer letter from my side to you.

Or: You send me e-mail to RZ6MO<at>mail.ru with this information (no fee). 

b.) wait answer from manager: DAT-QTH's list and a SPECIAL APPLICATION FORM-TABLE with value of distance(km) -points, which you'll need for award. You'll get a special "membership number of participant DAT-program" also.

Rem: When I recieve your letter, I calculate distance and number of points, which are needed to you. You'll get special "membership number" (in "D.A.T." program). I print Special Application Form (Table) with your data, number and distance. I apply a "hard" paper copy of newest update DAT-QTH List on English and all needed info. I send to you a letter with this papers.

Or: I send to you your membership number in D.A.T. program and needed number of points for your "distance" to North pole from your QTH-loc. You download special application form table and start collect points for D.A.T.

c.) when you'll have all needed points - send this form-table to Award manager RZ6MO and pay fee - 7 EURO (or 10 $USD) (or 10 IRC's) to Club financial manager KY2T. 

Rem: When You'll get my letter and info, you can check your QSO-database and formed an Applcation Form. If you'll need more cells, than exist in Form (75 lines for 75 QSO's), you can continue your listing on any paper, but similar as lines before. When your Form will be ready - You'll send this paper to me (at first, pse, send e-mail to me: ua6lto@mail.ru and check my post office adress - It may be changes) and send a fee (7US$ or 10IRC) to Dmytro KY2T (see e-mail on www.qrz.com).

d.) you'll get a first award "DAT" and rules of second award of this program, named "100 DAT-QTH". (100 different DAT-QTH's needed)

Rem: When I'll get your Application Form (and KY2T your fee), I'll check QSO-points and send to you first award "Diplom of Arctic Travel" and info about how much DAT-QTH's will be checked to you for "100 DAT-QTH" award (data from your AF). You'll can started collect (and checked) new DAT-QTH's for awards "100 DAT-QTH", "200 DAT-QTH", "300 DAT-QTH" and "DAT - QTH HR" plaque. For all nexted (after "base" "D.A.T") diplomas you can use continue of your first Special Application Form and your personal "Membership number".

For all awards RAA - program you can use any typical Application Form. Send AF to me and fee to KY2T (similar the "DAT").


2.3. "100 DAT-QTH" Award.

Describe the picture: You can see big photo of Sedov Peak mountain on Novaya Zemlya Isle (from helicopter) and small photos of varios Arctic QTH's: Dixon, Vorkuta, Arctic and Antarctic polar station.
